Responsible Gaming and Safe Use

Last updated

We want Game Oix to be a positive part of your day. This page sets out how we approach healthy, safe play.

No gambling, no purchases

Game Oix contains no gambling, no real-money prizes, no loot boxes and no in-game purchases. Points, ranks, achievements and streaks have no monetary value and exist only on your device. The card games on this site are skill-and-chance games played purely for fun.

Play in moderation

Puzzles are most enjoyable — and most useful — in short, focused sessions. We suggest:

  • Take regular breaks. Every 20–30 minutes, look away from the screen, stretch or take a short walk.
  • Use the pause button. Timed games can be paused at any time, and the board is hidden while paused.
  • Keep streaks in perspective. Daily streaks are meant to be encouraging. Missing a day is completely normal; you can always start again.
  • Stop when it stops being fun. If you feel frustrated or tense, switch to an easier level or a relaxing game, or simply take a break.

Screen time and well-being

Brain games are one healthy activity among many. Sleep, physical activity, time outdoors and time with friends and family all matter for well-being. If you find that gaming of any kind is taking over your time, affecting your sleep or relationships, or causing distress, consider talking to someone you trust or a health professional.

Photosensitivity

Our games avoid rapid flashing effects. However, if you or anyone in your household has photosensitive epilepsy, take care with any screen-based game and consult a doctor if you have concerns. Stop playing immediately if you feel unwell.

Accessibility

We aim to make our games usable by as many people as possible, with keyboard controls, visible focus indicators, readable fonts and good colour contrast. Many games respect your device's "reduce motion" setting. If something is difficult to use, please contact us so we can improve it.

For parents and carers

Game Oix is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 13. Our games contain no violent or adult content, no chat and no way to contact other players. Third-party advertisements may appear, so we recommend that younger children play with an adult nearby. You can learn more in our Privacy Policy.

Feedback

If you have suggestions to make Game Oix safer or more comfortable to use, we would love to hear them on our contact page.
