About Battleship
Each side hides a fleet of five ships — lengths 5, 4, 3, 3 and 2 — on a 10×10 grid. Ships never touch each other. Take turns firing one shot at the enemy grid: a hit shows orange, a sunk ship turns dark red, and a miss leaves a small marker. Sink the whole enemy fleet first to win.
The computer's aim depends on the difficulty: random shots on Easy, hunting around hits on Medium, and a probability map of every place the remaining ships could be on Hard and Expert.
How to play
- Press Shuffle my fleet until you like your layout, then Start battle.
- Tap a square in the enemy waters to fire.
- The computer fires back after each shot.
- Sink all five enemy ships to win.
Strategy and tips
- Search on a checkerboard pattern — every ship covers at least two squares, so you can skip half the grid at first.
- After a hit, test the four neighbours, then follow the line.
- Ships never touch, so squares around a sunk ship are always empty.
Questions about Battleship
Do ships touch?
No. Ships are never placed next to each other, not even diagonally.
