Klondike Solitaire
About Klondike Solitaire
Klondike is the solitaire most people know. Twenty-eight cards are dealt into seven columns, with only the top card of each face up. Build down in each column in alternating colours — a red 6 on a black 7 — and move cards to the four foundations, one per suit, from Ace up to King.
Easy and Medium turn one card at a time from the stock; Hard and Expert turn three, with only the top one playable. Medium and Expert also limit how many times you can go through the stock.
How to play
- Tap a face-up card (it and the cards on top of it are selected), then tap the column or foundation to move it to.
- Columns build down in alternating colours. Only a King can fill an empty column.
- Tap the stock to turn cards onto the waste pile.
- Double-tap a card to send it straight to its foundation.
- Move all 52 cards to the foundations to win. When every card is face up, Auto-finish completes the game.
Strategy and tips
- Turn over hidden cards first. Every face-down card you reveal opens new options; prefer moves that uncover them.
- Work on the longest columns — they hide the most cards.
- Don't empty a column without a King to move in.
- Don't rush cards to the foundations. A low card may still be needed to hold a card of the other colour.
