Dominoes
About Dominoes
Each player gets seven tiles from a double-six set. Take turns playing a tile that matches one of the two open ends of the line. In the Draw game (Easy and Medium) a player who cannot play draws from the boneyard; in the Block game (Hard and Expert) they must pass.
The first player to play all their tiles scores the total pips left in the opponent's hand. If neither player can move, the hand is blocked and the player with fewer pips scores nothing — but wins the hand. The player holding the higher double leads each hand.
How to play
- Tap a highlighted tile to play it. If it fits both ends, choose the left or right end.
- If you can't play, press Draw (Draw game) or Pass (Block game).
- Go out first to score the pips left in your opponent's hand.
- First to the target score wins.
Strategy and tips
- Play heavy tiles early — they cost you most if you are caught holding them.
- Keep variety. Holding several different numbers means you can follow more ends.
- Count what has been played to judge which numbers your opponent lacks.
Questions about Dominoes
What happens in a blocked hand?
Both hands are counted. The player with fewer pips wins the hand, and in this version no points are scored for it.
