Logic Grid Puzzle
About Logic Grid Puzzle
Logic grid puzzles are pure deduction. A group of people each have one item from two categories — perhaps a favourite colour and a pet — and a short list of clues tells you just enough to work out every pairing.
Game Oix generates each puzzle from scratch, then keeps adding clues until exactly one solution remains, and finally removes any clue that isn't needed. The result: every clue matters, and the puzzle can always be solved by logic alone.
How to play
- Read the clues on the left.
- Use the three grids to record what you know: People × first category, People × second category and the two categories against each other.
- Tap a cell to cycle through blank → ✕ (no) → ✓ (yes).
- With Auto-cross on, placing a ✓ automatically marks the rest of its row and column with ✕.
- Click a clue to strike it out once you have used it.
- The puzzle is solved when every person's pairings are correctly marked ✓. Use Check my grid to count mistakes without revealing them.
Strategy and tips
- Apply direct clues first — positives, then negatives.
- Every ✓ eliminates its row and column.
- Look for forced cells: a row with only one cell left that isn't ✕ must be ✓.
- Transfer information between grids. If Cleo likes green and the green lover doesn't own the turtle, Cleo doesn't own the turtle.
- When stuck, try a two-way case and follow it until it contradicts a clue.

Questions about Logic Grid Puzzle
Do I ever need to guess?
No. Every puzzle is checked by a solver to have exactly one solution reachable by deduction.
What is the difference between Hard and Expert?
Both use five people. Expert puzzles contain almost no direct "yes" clues, so every pairing must be deduced from negative and linking clues.
